Not every person who contacts MBA NSW-ACT requires financial assistance, almost half of the doctors and family members we help have no urgent financial needs.
The Social Worker has worked with doctors for many years and is aware of the unique difficulties doctors may face, both at home and at work. Please call the Social Worker if you wish to discuss your situation and see if MBA NSW-ACT can help.
For those who do require short term financial assistance, the MBANSW, through the Social Worker, will assist to identify alternative sources of support and financial assistance.
The Social Worker will remain in contact to ensure that the family are 'weathering the storm' until the crisis is passed or independence is regained.
In many cases, referrals are made to financial counselling, legal and other professionals through our networks who also specialise in helping medical practitioners. MBA NSW-ACT is not able to provide clinical treatment, but the Social Worker may be able to help you find the treatment you need.
Are you aware of a colleague who may need our assistance? Please encourage them to contact us early and in confidence.

About one third of the doctors, family members and others that we help have no financial concerns, but seek support in other matters including family and domestic violence, grief, addiction and chronic health conditions.
